Bine's Reisen um die Welt (Bine's Travels Round the World), between lap and bed size
This is a quilt I made for my cousin Sabine's graduation as a medical doctor. The picture doesn't really do it justice - the quilt really sparkles. When I decided to make Bine a quilt, the pattern Trip Around The World fairly jumped at me. She's been all over the globe - doing some of her studies in mainland China, for example. One of the yellow fabrics has little black bees on it (bee in German is "Biene", pronounced the same way as her name). So the name of the quilt just had to be "Bine's Travels Around the World".
Machine-pieced and machine-quilted.
