Baby hot water bottle for a friend's baby born in April 2006. Actually, it's not a hot water bottle at all -
the filling is some grain that can be heated in the microwave. No idea what that would be called... It's made with yellow and black fleece. May 2006. |

Pillow with Escher-like graphic for a good friend. Sometime in 2005. |

My favorite bag for carrying UFOs around. This was my first try at Seminole strip piecing. Made in 2001, I believe. |
A bag for storing a two-person sleeping bag. Made for a friend and his lady in March 2001. I sewed this in one day and made good use
of some fabric scraps I wasn't sure what to do with. I added a sturdy strap on the side so you can sling the bag over your shoulder. |
Two shopping bags I made for a dear friend and his lady when they moved in together. I copied the patterns for the
optical illusions from a book about Escher. June 2000. |
A block I made as a present for a visiting quilter from the U.S. The castle is Neuschwanstein, a fairy-tale type castle
built by King Ludwig of Bavaria (American tourists have been heard to call it "Crazy Louis' Castle". October 1999. |
A large bag for carrying my fabric around... Made during a weekend quilting class I took where the teacher taught various bag patterns.
Finished in 1999. |

Two shopping bags made out of the fabrics Ellen from Ohio sent me. 1999. |
A shopping bag made out of the kitty fabrics I was sent via squishies from some of the members of the R.C.T.Q. newsgroup.
The item on the left is the Millenium Tie
I have had to sew 10 times already. It's made out of the dark blue Y2K fabric Ellen from Ohio and Terry (also from R.C.T.Q) sent me.
I stitched a "Y2K"
on the bottom third of the tie and made it look similar to the Yves Saint-Laurent logo. Sewn in 1999 |
Our bags for the sleeping bags when they are not squished into their small travel bags. |
A doll I made from scratch, so to speak. I sewed her body from a skin-colored T-shirt-like material, stuffed
it with polyester batting, and made the face by glueing the fabric over a plastic mask. I inserted wires in her
arms and legs so they can be bent into position. For the clothes, I'm using 50-year-old lace I got from a friend,
and am sewing it onto tea-dyed fabric. As you can see, I lost enthousiasm half-way through. The dress is
in pieces so far, and I just need one quiet weekend to finish it off. The doll should really be in the UFO section... |
