Quilt 20

Starry, starry night..., bed size
This is another group activity. After the success of our round robin quilts, our group started a new project. Each of us picked some patterns for a sampler-type quilt we wanted to make and had each of the group members sew a certain number of the patterns. This time, each quilter got the patterns she was to sew for the others, plus the preferred colors to use. No fabric was handed out - we were to use our own stashes.

I picked out eight star patterns, four of 4 1/2 inches in size, four of 8 inches in size. I sewed a few stars myself, and added the sky, made of 4 1/2 inch squares of all the blue fabrics I had collected. Paper-pieced stars, machine-sewn and hand-quilted.
Date: October 2003 to March 2007
Size: 183 x 204 cm / 72" x 80"
